@Anthony - I'm not trying to make excuses. Just highlighting the facts. Text messages can be delayed by carriers. This is not an excuse, it happens all the time. Plus, we know this to be fact from our own testing internally. I'm attempting to field dozens of replies on here. So what might of seemed like an excuse, might actually be a response to a previous post.
@Noel - I'm not sure I understand how we can present this opportunity for free movie passes any better. Each event has a disclaimer. Should we make this line a larger font? "RSVP'ing attend does not guarantee you a seat.".
I'm open to suggestions. How can tMC reduce expectations and frustration? Anybody have that answer? If we implement your suggestion I'll mail you a movie prize pack from my vault.

Well said--I actually agree with you. None of us have some kind of automatic entitlement. Frankly, I'm grateful for the couple of screenings I've been able to attend. However, the points that some people here (including me) do still have some validity under the circumstances.
Comment by Noel Desilets on June 16, 2011 at 1:57pm @Mark You are probably right about people probably not coming back and posting. I actually planned on doing just that today, not to gloat but to let people know the text was finally out.
I'm actually not pissed about not getting passes. I'm disappointed about that, but I wouldn't be complaining if it was just that. I completely get you win some, you lose some. I'm pissed because it looks like there was no way to have gotten them in the first place.
I'm not making false accusations, I'm just stating what it looks like. It was the first day of the movie being listed and I was something like #50-60 to RSVP. (I can't remember exactly--it was weeks ago) I responded to the text within one minute of recieving it. Other people had the same experience and nobody (including you) is saying there was anybody who actually successfully obtained passes through the texted code.
Instead, you come out and explain text delays, but again, there are no responses before the very minute that people simultaneously were posting the same experience at the same time.
I get it--it's a contest. I knew I might not get passes. I'm not going off in a huff. Strung along doesn't refer to getting/not getting passes. It refers to an expectation created by tMC that there are reasonable chances to get a pass when (as illustrated today) there was not.
By the way--I give you kudos for being on the ball with updates from the delays last night and also for responding to the complaints and my dialogue here. (but it doesn't discount my points!)

"Follow the white rabbit..."
Comment by Mike on June 16, 2011 at 12:03pm @Sheri - You're welcome.
I understand if people are getting upset but they dont have to act like its the end of the world.
