Comment by Charlie on July 12, 2010 at 10:16pm: I know this was at AMC. I mearly was commenting that at some Harkins theaters, they have a list of phone numbers. Indeed, when I got to AMC after 5 PM, they had no list of phone numbers, they were thinking that they might not get that list until after 6 PM, as that is when the screener organizer usually shows up at their theater. They did however let us wait in line without any checks.

This screening is at AMC, not Harkins. Please double check before offering up advice. This can be very confusing for new members. An email was sent to all attendees regarding attending this screening.

Comment by txtMovieClub on July 12, 2010 at 3:14pm: UPDATE: We had a catastrophic carrier connection failure last night. Most attendees did not receive a txt msg invite. If you wish to attend, please proceed to the theatre & use your mobile phone as your pass. We have notified the screening rep and if you experience any issues, simply mention you a txtMovieClub member. This will not guarantee you a seat, but will allow you normal entry. Sorry for any inconvenience and enjoy the screening!

This sometimes happens for showing at Harkins theaters, but at many of those locations, they also have a list of all the phone numbers that were suppose to receive the txt invite, so no biggie if one doesn't actually get it (or keep from deleting it).

I happened to be in the area, so I stopped by the theater at 1 PM, the manager there had no idea about TxtMovieClub, and no list of phone numbers. All he said was that they rent out the theater to the screening company (not TxtMovieClub), and that company controls who comes into the theater, with all the passes, etc. It's going to be a real gamble to show up and say we want to see this film, but no pass in hand.
