Rob,thanks for the synopsis. Good thing you had "backup passes" sitting at home.
Tell me,someone has taken a pic of Mr.Awesome and Wingo in costume! :)
I won passes and a t-shirt that I gave away because I could have worn it back when I was 10 mabey...so I was bummed about that..I wanted to keep it...only the "staff" got the bigger sizes. and the passes I won say VIP on them...but someone told me I still have to get there early and wait in line. My hubby told me it was the biggest waste of 6+ hours in his life. What was upsetting is that they told everyone that it was the only way to get passes to the screening...but everyone busted out with gofobo RSVP codes...by then I was hooked into going... I wanted to see what it was going to be like. It was a huge joke!!! They didn't even check to see if the Winners in the raffel at the end of the night had all of the items...it was a drawing open to the public they had a stand with entry froms at the door of the last location. They didn't check ID's of the people that won so I could have put my dogs name on the paper and won the prize. I've organized better activities in elementry school. The only good thing about it was I got to meet some of the fellow text movie club people :) The people that oragnized it made me feel like I was an outcast or a freak...they always sat together and when I asked if they had room at the table they told me no...WOW. You would think they would be more social with the people who keep them employed...Very unorganized...very LAME!!! You did NOT have to be 21 as the advertisment stated...so I could have brought some of my friends...the food and drink specials were a joke- I got yourgt because it said watchmen specail .39 cents...and when I paid I verified that I was getting the "special" they said that that's always the special. getting free cover charge into the last location was neat but it was also the only way to win...suposivly...I would swear that some people wernt there and they were going to contact them to let them know they won. Next time they have an event like that they should ask me to help...I would have had it all organized WAY better and I would have socalized A TON more. It was a great chance for TMC to get publicity and they missed SO MANY options!!!
.... i had fun, too much fun. and it wasn't because of the Hunt... the first special was the best, FREE HAPPY HOUR!!! that's right FREE BOOZE!!!!!! sooo my friends and i went a little to hog wild there and then the rest of the night is kind of a in and out situation.
i hope the next one is like an actual hunt, like have a bunch of locations that are far away and you get real clues, not "show up at this place at this time"
but too much of a legal thing
and don't try to steal shit, they don't like that haha
Then why did I pay for the beer? Hmmm... Rob didn't have to pay for his soda... I had to pay for my beer. Beer/soda... soda/beer... which goes with happy hour?
**This was not a tMC event, but their name was all over it. I'm sure had tMC been given the chance to have a say in it, it would have been a lot better than what it ended up being. They have more originality and vision in their little pinkies, than whoever it was that decided our fate last night.
***It was a great idea, it got attention to the movie (which was its purpose) but, our enjoyment of the event was not on the list of priorities. Honestly, outside of Kevin and Mark, I thought that we were made to feel like we were misfits who, were not good enough to speak with/mingle with.
****Nick was fantastic to watch as he got more drunk during the evening. He threw rocks at me twice people!! He was very proud of himself. It was fun with us tMC folks and I give tMC 5 stars for being involved but everyone else a big thumbs down for not trying.
Kristi, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have the best experience. I had the nice opportunity to speak with Mark at the King Fish House and he told me that this was ONLY the 2nd S.H. [Scav Hunt] they've been involved in. So there are still kinks to be worked out.
I've seen and heard of many injustices in my lifetime, including the theft of Silent Auction items at my daughter's school, and this will continue as long as evil and greed exist in the hearts of people. So it goes that I remind myself of what's REALLY important during these times - doughnuts, cats and eye sockets. :p
I do my best to surround myself with positive influences. Life is all about experiences, and I always find the silver lining to make them good ones. I hope to meet you one day. I was there last night with my daughter, but I called it a night after Cold Stone. It was just getting too late. My purpose was to actually just meet the tMC gang, and I met most of the regulars. Say hey the next time you see me!
Silver lining was Mark and Kevin. It's good seeing them at events... and meeting people like you, Michael. The few txt members that I've missed somehow... that was the best.
