So epic you had to post it twice.
Permalink Reply by Shari on November 21, 2011 at 9:53pm I swear! I have no idea why it is on here twice!! I don't know what is going on with my computer! When I click to open something it closes as well... as if... I clicked it twice, if that makes sense. DRIVING ME CRAZY this thing. :D
But, yes. Erik is awesome.

Does this guy live in the valley? Or do we have to buy him a beer or something to show up?
Permalink Reply by Shari on November 22, 2011 at 6:58am I have no idea where he is, but I'm sure you would have to have a damn good reason to get him to speak at an engagement. I don't think, "We think you're awesome!", which we DO, will do the trick.
Permalink Reply by Justin G on November 22, 2011 at 8:45am Can you use the "I will interview you" card?

Permalink Reply by Dave Lathrop on November 28, 2011 at 8:24pm Justin sounds like he would give his right leg to have him come to Phoenix...
Seriously, I just finally got around to watching this video. Wasn't going to watch it, but I was persuaded, and I'm glad I did. When I was in high school, I was the second fastest track runner in school... and Kevin... one of my best friends and the only one who was faster than me... wound up losing a foot to cancer. And suddenly, I didn't care about the competition... what really motivated me was the inspiration that Kevin showed... you see, he got a prostethic foot the following year, and was soon back to running... although he was never as fast as he once was. And I soon lost interest in track. It just wasn't the same.
My wife runs a martial arts school, a lot of you know that. What's really tough is keeping the motivation for these kids to keep going. They show a huge initial interest after seeing the Jackie Chan and the Jet Li movies and they want to obtain a black belt and after a while... they lose interest, because it takes a long time to achieve any kind of belt rank. So they quit... thinking that they can't do it. Erik's video is very motivational, and he has a sincere interest as a motivational speaker... much like Aron Ralston ("127 Hours") does. It would be wonderful if somehow... we could find a way to have him participate in either speaking at our dojo... or, since my wife and I have many contacts with some of the local elementary schools... to get Erik to speak at one of these functions.
Anything I can do Shari... let me know.
