"Local Color" is the emotional and inspirational story of a talented, but troubled eighteen-year-old art student (Trevor Morgan) and his mentor (Armin Mueller-Stahl), an elderly alcoholic “Russian Master” who has turned his back on not only art, but on life. What begins as a tenuous relationship for the two artists ultimately becomes their salvation. The student learns to see the world through the master's eyes, and the master learns to see life through the eyes of innocence again. This story is based on a real life experience.

I was lucky enough to meet George Gallo (went to several of the screenings just to keep seeing this and talking to him... he finally gave me his cell and we spoke about writing over the phone and in email) and he is such a talent.
Thank you Dan Harkins for giving this film some wings and for getting it some distribution.
I think this movie can best be described as perfect. It's beautiful without nudging out those in the audience who may not appreciate films that tug at the heart strings, especially when it's completely contrived.
Thank you, Michael, for sticking up for me!! See, Rob!? It's a great movie! Perhaps you should watch it when you're not working since I'm sure inventory was the only time you were able to kinda see the thing... well... when you were FORCED to watch it.
Awh I LOVED this movie! I'm a real art lover and Trevor Morgan is adorable so naturally is was one of my favs lol. I had the pleasure of meeting George Gallo as well (I went to the camelview screening) and it was wonderful to see someone so passionate about his craft. Thanks for posting this, I'm glad to see more people find out about this lovely little film.
