chapter one 'preface'

Its short yah :) but it's only a preface. i don't think it's s'pose to be all that long

“Who am i?”
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know or you don’t care?”
“Pick one.”
“I’m going to go with you not caring.”
“Why?”
“You told me to choose and I did.”

The girl stood. “This isn’t my life.” She said. Moving she picked up the small possessions she called hers and turned, looking at him one last time. “I thank you for what you've done for me, but staying here won't help me. I need to remember the life I once had before I can live another. Goodbye, Jason.” Jason looked the other way. He couldn’t bear to see her leave. Not like this. Taking a small, blue, bag she pulled her coat on and dropped her things in it. For the months that Jason had helped her she never had her name to give, and now she believed she had it in her grasp. “What will I remember you by?” He asked as she stared at her reflection in the broken, old, mirror. Even in the smeared reflection her bright emerald eyes stood out, like a beacon in the darkness. Biting the inside of her lip, she pondered. “Emerald.” She said. “Remember me as Emerald.” She never turned to look at him again, never turned to say goodbye. She simply left. She had disappeared just as fast as she appeared.
