Anime Film

Saw this on Sci-Fi channels old anime marathon back from the 90's. Never knew what it was called but there was this one anime film I always wanted to revisit when I was older.

Here's what I remember from the very beginning.

A big alien spaceship crashes into a planet. A boy starts going through the debris and finds an alien in a pod or something. The alien reaches out to him with a bubble (looks like glass) on his hand. The bubble transfers from the alien's hand onto the boy's.

If I remember correctly the bubble has something to do with saving the planet and special powers.
