Text message invites to special advance movie screenings
New User Guide
Thank you for joining txtMovieClub! Here's how you get started: With regards to the site being STEP ONE of this TWO STEP process, let's move you through your page, then the tabs on the main page before we take you to the theatre.
This is where you score big points with friends and family. Who wouldn't want to see free movies first? Share some tMC and send invitations to your friends and family to join you here. We are very grateful to those of you who take the time to send invitations. By clicking on the Invite tab you can send multiple invites with one simple click!
My Page
Upload a picture to use as your avatar. Either use a photo of yourself or something that represents your taste. Choose "My Photo" and next, on the page it brings up, select "Profile Photo" then "Upload an Image". Here is where you can also fill out and make changes to your profile by clicking on "About Me" on the left hand side. On the right is "My Settings" where you'll find the options necessary to change your personal information and password. Feel free to change your profile heading to better suit your taste. When you join, it simply reads your name in large letters with the word page following it. To change the existing heading, double click your name and type a new message. It's that easy! Click theme and edit the appearance of your page. This is yet another way to make the page your own! You can pick one of ours or create your own by selecting "Theme Settings" and begin to choose colors and images. On your page you can also add pictures and videos for people to see.
Friend Requests and Personal Messaging
Friend requests will show in the top right hand corner where you will also locate your mailbox. If you receive new requests or messages, it will tell you so with the "number of" next to these items.
Members
This is where you find new friends! The top five featured are some you may find helpful to you as they frequent the site and are typically familiar with how things work. Under them it will list, by newest, the rest of our members, including you! If you need to, click "Sort By" which gives you the other options "Alphabetical" and "Random" to help you in your search. On the left you can search by letter or by name.
Events
Navigate to the Main Page. You will find the all important "EVENTS" tab. Click it and there you'll see the selection of movies you would like to attend and the date you would like to attend them. Some movies have more than one screening so choose "Next" to find more dates and times. Once you locate the screening you desire to see, you must then RSVP. The top right hand corner gives you 3 options, which are "Will Attend", "Might Attend" and "Will Not Attend". Click your preference and on your page it will inform you of the movies you have selected, under the "My Events" portion. It is imperative that you go back to "Events" and change your RSVP if you are unable to go. An accurate count is essential in providing the best quality of service and seating is limited. Failure to appear when you selected "Will Attend" may eventually result in passes being given to other parties.
Forum
If you would like to view discussions, they are found under the "FORUM" tab. This is where our members go to speak on various topics, which are "Upcoming Movies and Screenings", "You're the Critic", "General Discussion", "Celebrity Talk and Gossip", and "Blast Back". Choose a topic if you are interested in reading old posts or start one of your own for people to add comments to, by selecting the "Start a Discussion" button on the top right hand corner. Choose a discussion title, type your post, pick the catagory you would like it to fall under and click start discussion. You may attach files to your post if you wish. After you start your discussion, it will appear on the main page labeled "Forum". Only the top five in circulation are seen here. You may also start you discussion from this area and/or view all without choosing the "Forum" tab.
Groups
The "Groups" tab works the same way as the Forum. Find the group you most feel akin to and comment to your hearts content. "Blog" posts are also on the main page.
Notes
This is where we keep the legal stuff, contact information, and frequently asked questions. Oh, and just so know, you're in the Notes section now.
Photos
View all of our members photos! You have a choice of how you would like to view them by clicking "Sort By" on the right hand side of the page. A drop down menu appears and you can view them one of four ways. These are "Latest", "Top Rated", "Most Popular" and "Random". We encourage you to "Rate" the photos by clicking on the image and, at the bottom of the picture, there is a five star rating system. Five being the best. You can also "View Full Size" and see how many times the picture has been viewed. At the top right hand corner of this page, if you wish to add a photo yourself, click the "Add Photo" button. Next choose "Browse" then "Upload Photos".Upload your own photos, create an album, and view photos that members have uploaded. You can even import your photos from Flickr or upload them using your mobile phone!
Videos
The Video page is the perfect place for movie trailer fans. Watch the latest movie trailers, comment and discuss with other members. Members can also upload their own videos or link from popular video sites such as youtube or googlevideo. You can even upload a video straight from your mobile phone!
Attending Your First txtMovieClub Screening
You will receive a text message invite (tmi) from txtMovieClub the day before the event. Barring any unforseen circumstances, you will receive the text message the day before so you can plan. We may also send attendees a message with updated information - so be sure your profile email settings for Events is checked to receive.

STEP TWO
Attending Your First txtMovieClub Screening

When you have your text in hand, you must arrive at the theatre with enough time to insure your admittance. One to two hours is vital, however, the bigger the title, the more time you may want to give yourself. Make a day of it! Bring a book and some cards to occupy your time. Soon, you will get to know other tMC members and the time will fly much quicker with fun conversation.
Depending on the theatre, the line you must get in, may form outside. In the event this were to happen, if you are not dressed appropriately, you may not be comfortable. Proper attire should be considered. Camera phones are often not allowed per the studio's request. We will inform you via text message if this situation arises. If it does, you will use the last four digits of the mobile number you provided tMC when you joined, as your pass. A screening representative will be present to check you in. When you arrive, find a place in line and the representative will come to you. Theatre policies for screenings differ, in some circumstances, you may show your text for a ticket at the theatre.

Gofobo Screenings
From time to time, we post additional bonus screenings for tMC members thru our partner gofobo. Their system requires you to print passes and show the paper pass for entry. The day before the screening, we send attendees text message invites (tmi) that contain an exclusive rsvp code. Members are instructed to login to their gofobo account and enter the code to print their pass.

Passes from gofobo are limited, and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seating is not guaranteed. RSVPing "attending" on a tMC/gofobo Event does not guarantee there will be a pass available once you enter the rsvp code on gofobo.com. It's a good idea to create a gofobo account before hand and be ready to quickly enter the RSVP code once received.
