Saw this movie the other night. I found it to be enertaining, tongue in cheek, well managed time and script wise and just a whole lot of fun.
it was not supposed to be Ghandi, or a deep film...just have a plot, action, likeable characters and tell a fun story. The three D made it more enjoyable

Comment by Markus Jerald on January 31, 2013 at 11:51am Not to sound degrading, but mainly giving you guys a heads up and something to consider. Overbooking the theater comes with the territory. It is also indicated in the small fine print at the bottom of your gofobo passes, in the Disclaimer section. It is guaranteed to be overbooked and they have the right to admit or refuse entry.
I forgot which city it was, where I explained my experience, but for future reference, do not follow the time frame that is printed on gofobo. Going to a screener 1 hour to an hour and a half before the screener is a good chance for people to be turned away. The most common time is 2 hours, but depending on the hype of the movie, I see people arrive 3-4 hours. I remember when Dark Knight was screening, people showed up 5-6 hours. It depends on the hype of the movie. Eventually Hansel and Gretel was a big one and it was a chaotic scene at Red Rock.
I'm not sure how it works else where, but what I know, for one long line entry and depending on the hype of the movie. Depends when you should go. Most common is 2-3 hours for the long line entry, but for hyped up movies, expect to be there earlier. On the other hand, some theaters only allow you to be there 2 hours. But for Vegas, depending on theater, depending on hype, depends when you should go.
Expect A Good Day to Die Hard to be a chaotic scene. Goodluck on your future screeners!
Comment by Carrie Willingham on January 31, 2013 at 9:33am Sorry Elyse got turned away ..but there are always more good movie screenings around the corner...it must have been a popular movie. They really should check their numbers before they announce the passes..but that is just part of the game, I guess
Comment by Markus Jerald on January 31, 2013 at 9:08am Yea, the line at Red Rock was crazy, more than usual. I'm sure Elyse knows how long it was, I would say it was as long as a football field, last time I checked. From my understanding, over 150+ people were turned away. But, I was one of those who actually got in.
The movie was good, the action was great. The special effects were awesome too. The 3D effect has it's moments but there were a few moments that didn't really impressed me. But I like some scenes that make you jump in your seat.
I did find it more humorous than scary. A bit more gorie than expected but it was a good movie over all. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Carrie and keep up the good work.
Comment by Elyse olack on January 30, 2013 at 9:00pm tried going to the screening at Red Rock a few nights ago only to be told as we stood in line for about 1/1/2 hrs. that the theatre was full, so didn't get to see it.
