IT’S IN THE BLOOD starring Lance Henriksen will screen at 2012 Phx International Horror & Sci-Fi Festival

Lance Henriksen to attend

First time film makers Scooter Downey and Sean Elliot, in association with Greenhouse Studios and Spiderwood Studios, proudly present the Arizona premiere of It’s In The Blood, a character-driven horror story starring veteran character actor Lance Henriksen.

It’s in the Blood will make its Arizona premier at the 2012 Phoenix International Horror & Sci-Fi Festival on Friday March 30 at 9:45 PM at the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theatre 7 (7000 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix, AZ 85054).  An additional screening will be held on Tuesday April 3 at 9:10 PM in the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theatre 5. Star, Lance Henriksen, will be in attendance, along with Director Scooter Downey and Costar Sean Elliot.

The film premiered at the New Jersey Film Festival where it received an honorable mention.  Following this, the film screened at the Derby City Film Festival where it was awarded Best Picture, Audience Choice Award, Grand Jury Prize, and Elliot was awarded Best Actor (October).  Lance Henriksen (Russell) received a Lifetime Achievement Award in front of an audience of nearly 500.  Most recently the film took second place honors at the Appalachian Film Festival.

Directed by Scooter Downey, It’s In The Blood is a wholly unique cinematic movement.  At its core a father son story, the film is a deconstruction of the prototypical “creature feature”, incorporating elements of mystical realism and psychological thriller.  This new motion in film is called a Psyche-Saga.  Lance Henriksen stars in this nightmarish descent into the wilderness, the very heart of darkness where more than your guilt can eat you alive.

Best known for his roles as Karl Bishop Weyland in the Aliens franchise and Frank Black in the TV series MillenniumLance Henriksen has amassed a resume that would put most actors to shame in a career spanning more than 50 years. Lance has worked with some of the greatest directors of all time, including James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, and Sidney Lumet, and his characters have been killed by some of Hollywood’s greatest monsters, including the Terminator, the Predator and the Alien. With 15 projects in 2011, this versatile actor shows no signs of slowing down.

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and best friends since kindergarten, Sean Elliot and Scooter Downey co-wrote and produced the film. The film was shot in Austin, Texas, with Spiderwood Studios providing the cinematic backdrop with a state-of-the-art, full-service production facility situated on 200 acres of diverse terrain along the Colorado River.

Greenhouse Studios, a Los Angeles production company that assists independent filmmakers through every stage of the cinematic process, provided post production services and additional support.
