It's official. We're smack dab in the middle of a HP Touchpad frenzy. Ever since HP decided to drop the prices of their Touchpads to $99, hungry tablet shoppers have been scouring the web and bick and mortar stores. Who cares if the device is already obsolete and the operating system is miles away from IOS and Android, it's still a cheap ass powerful tablet for $99.
I was able to snag a deal on Amazon early this week. My 16 gb model should be arriving anyday now. What am I going to do with it? Watch movies of course! And wait patiently for developers to work on an Android port (hacking the Touchpad to be able to install Android operating system).
In an effort to aid any members looking for this sweet deal, I'm posting a few helpful links. These links will allow you to check your local Best Buy's inventory for Touchpads. Currently, there are some still available in Arizona. I can't be 100% sure of the real-time status of the inventory, but people have reported success.
So good luck, and if you do happen to snag one, or have purchased one somewhere else, then please share your story here. I'm eager to login to tMC with the flash enabled browser!

The HP website claims more coming soon. Here's a link to HP's website that will allow you to sign up for alerts for new inventory.
One of the most informative ways to find out HP's inventory status seems to be thru their newly popular twitter feed (almost 20k followers in a few short days). Bryna is the social media manager for HP. From looking at her recent posts, one would assume info regarding new inventory would spring up here first.

Here is a 32GB model for a reasonable price. The cool thing about these tablets now is you can run Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0

Tablet fans in the US will have yet another opportunity to get their hands on the doomed HP TouchPad for just $ 99 this weekend.
HP will resurrect the WebOS-running tablet for one more fire sale by placing refurbished models on its eBay store this coming Sunday night, December 11.
16GB models will cost $ 99, while the 32GB tablet will set you back a modest $ 149. HP says the items will appear in the laptops section of its store and that all sales are final.
The company is also offering an accessory bundle for $ 79, which features a wireless keyboard, charging dock and case.
The sale will begin at 7pm EST and is unlikely to last much beyond 7:01pm given the demand for the dirt cheap devices during HPs numerous numerous attempts to shift the remaining inventory!!

@JT - You're right, I was a little harsh. Didn't even get to the bundle description. The second I received the email, opened it, clicked the link, saw sold-out and the price. Good thing I'm not a paid reporter, I would of just lost my job :)
I do give them kudos for actually sending an alert. I signed up for the HP alert and never received a single email.

Comment by JT on September 9, 2011 at 11:20am Mark, in all fairness, they sold this as a bundle, throwing in a charging dock and wireless keyboard (claimed value of $60 and $40, respectively). So not quite as crooked as it may seem at first glance. Thanks for trying to share the deal with us!
I just received an email from Tiger Direct this morning at 10:34am. They had HP Touchpads in stock! For about 5 minutes :) They were selling the 16gb for $199. Marking it up 100%, those crooks. Not sure if this sudden showing of more stock is a sign of more to come, or just Tiger Direct finding a small stash in some warehouse.
This is a great article from TechCrunch. Really puts this frenzy in perspective. It's so true, why in the world would HP want to stop making these Touchpads (now)?
Comment by Señor chicles on August 30, 2011 at 7:41pm I was really hoping to get lucky and scoop up a few of these. What a perfect prize for a tMC sweepstakes!
But, I'm sorry hellokitty, the one that I did end up getting is reserved for my wife :)
There's still hope though - can't hurt to sign up for this alert from Tiger Direct. And of course keeping an eye on the HP website.
so you want to sell yours mark:)
